The DripStat agent allows multiple apps on a single jvm to be identified individually.
This feature is really only useful in legacy architectures. For example, when you have multiple .war files deployed on a single Tomcat instance.
To use this feature:
autoAppNaming=truein the DripStat configuration file.
- The application name will be automatically determined in the following order of precedence:
1. Context Parameter
You can set the application name using:
2. Display Name
This uses the
display-name element in
3. Context Path
The context path is obtained by calling
/ of the context path is ignored when naming the app.
If the context path is empty or is just
/, it will be ignored.
4. Application Name in config.properties
Failing all the above, as a last try, DripStat will check if the application name property in the DripStat config file has a value.
If it does, then that is the application name assigned to that transaction.
If autoAppName is set to true and no application name can be determined for a transaction, then that transaction is ignored.
